Past Presidents Have Another Day
It was past presidents' day of the Rotary Club Tuesday, with four of the seven past presidents of the club present to participate in an impromptu program that apparently had but one objective –the repeated penalties levied against one R. Lindemann, immediate past active president, who was supposed to have arranged the program but failed to make an appearance at the last minute.
Past President Bob Puccinelli was master of ceremonies and gavel swinger. He and former presidents L. J. Spindt, Gilbert Elliott and Charles Kaljian all took turns at their old posts with complimentary and pleasing remarks to all.
Past presidents not present to participate were Lindemann, Bert Loosmore, R. M. Miano and Dr. Geo. B. Pimentel, who served as the first president of Rotary in Los Banos.
Herman Willis, of Dos Palos, spoke briefly concerning a recent business trip to Washington, D. C., and his impressions as to present and future agriculture outlook, as reflected by present national legislation and politics.
Dr. L. R. Hillyer, chairman of the annual Rotary-Lions softball game, stated that plans for the coming game were rapidly nearing completion, and that it would be played Tuesday evening July 12.
