Movie Films At Rotary Luncheon
Two educational sound films, "Atomic Power" and "The Story of Light," were shown at the Rotary Club luncheon Tuesday noon by Frank Orr, local electrician and member of the club.
"The Story of Light" was a spectacular showing, tracing the story of light from the earliest cave man and his camp fire through the days of the candle, whale oil wick lamps, kerosene and gas lights to the invention and development of today's incandescent and vapor lights.
The "Atomic Power" movie was equally educational, showing the present and potential future development of atom power, plus a brief outline of the United States' newest atom-powered submarine, the Nautilus. With the gradual exhaustion of the earth's present stores of gas, oil and coal, the film anticipated the part that atomic power units will take in future peacetime industries.
